There was a discussion > changing the Icons for ODF: > http://blogs.sun.com/ratte/entry/orivieto_esc_meeting Not really, it's not been clear who the backers are and more imporantly, there seems to be no way to contact or interact with the person involved in proposing a new draft. An earlier version of these was presented on the OOo lists, but came across as not quite receptive to changes or even acknowledging requests. While the shapes (the "Non-ODF" icons) are quite nicely done, the current draft of the ODF icons contains Roman text, which should be a show-stopping bug from both a usability perspective and from an accessibility perspective. It would be nice to request that the next draft include an iconic rendering representative of ODF. Worldlabel.com is putting up some funds, OOoauthors is kindly donating books and several other folks are active in getting this going. The subject of ODF came up and several of us agree that it would be a great idea to bring it into the mix as ODF can be used as a tactical tool to help the implementation of OOo. If there is anyone on this list wishing to get involved, please let me know. If you live around DC and can help out at the booth thats will be especially helpfull even if its just part-time. It's linked from this page: http://opendocumentfellowship.com/about_us/events/materials I'll put a link from the Libraries page, too, soon. I cannot find the handout I thought I had compiled on "what is ODF and why should you care" (not related to the article with a similar name that's on Groklaw and linked from the Fellowship's website). I am probably misremembering something else. But the one targeted for libraries is better for this conference, I think. --Jean Jean Hollis Weber wrote: > I've found an even more relevant document for the ALA conference: > a PDF someone put together from the info in the "Libraries" section of > the Fellowship's website.
