Yes.  Nice article, but one common theme, aside from ODF, through these
articles is that they downplay the interoperability by implying that
only "open source advocates" are the ones wanting open standards, or by
conflating "open source" and "open standards".

The quest for a universal office document format is a broader issue than
just open source.  It's rather (open source + closed source +
governments + businesses) vs MS.
