[odf-discuss] Is OpenXML exactly equal to the default Office 2007 format?

I _seem_ to remember that this is not the case, but all I found
to support such a memory is this page:

Basically I have the feeling that I read somewhere that 100$ pure OpenXML
is _not_ what you get when you save files today in Office 2007, not as a
default
at least, and that Office 2007 can _read_ OpenXml files, but not _write_
them. Do I remember well (if yes, further links which prove it are
welcome!) or not?
