Stephane Rodriguez forwarded me some information:
"Hello,
I have a few simple and valid spreadsheet files, created in Excel 2007, that
either can't open in Gnumeric, or get corrupt when Gnumeric writes them
back.
- unable to open the file, writes back a corrupt file (according to Excel
2007)
http://www.arstdesign.com/BBS/picsupload/Book2_s.xlsx
- unable to support the Excel 2007 sheet (testing the one million rows grid)
http://www.arstdesign.com/BBS/picsupload/Book3_s.xlsx
- unable to recompute the SUM in cell B7
http://www.arstdesign.com/BBS/picsupload/Book4_s.xlsx
Those files behave probably just as bad elsewhere (other than Excel 2007).
