Declaration: the interoperability barrier between Microsoft Office and
ODF compliant applications is not a limitation of ODF. It is a
limitation of Microsoft Office. Microsoft have the engineering
capacity to make Microsoft Office read/write ODF documents without
significant issue.

Supporting argument: there are ODF applications that do not share a
code-base that successfully read/write ODF regardless of the
originating or last modifying application.

Additional supporting argument: that while Microsoft have previously
claimed ODF does not support saving of features available in their
products (or file formats thereof), they have declined to provide any
evidence for this claim despite repeated requests to do so.
