That's giving Slashdot users a lot more credibility than most Open Source
developers would ascribe to them. :-)

That's actually not at all what I said, and I clarified that in a followup.
I said that a sweeping statement from the GNOME Foundation (based on the
suggestions gleaned from this list) might not reflect the opinions of our
contributors -- individual, corporate, whatever. This list could encourage
the GNOME Foundation to announce that it support pink grapefruit juice. I
would say the same thing: That statement may not reflect the opinions of our
contributors.

It looks like conspiracy theories. :-)

I really think you need to look harder at the structure, members and costs
associated with the Advisory Board, so that you see how nutty this sounds.
The GNOME Foundation, let alone the broader GNOME project, isn't beholden to
commercial interests through sponsorship. The GNOME Foundation was designed
to avoid that kind of mess entirely. Neither the GNOME Foundation Board or
the Advisory Board set technical direction for the GNOME project.

Pamela, I'm totally happy to answer questions by phone if you're trying to
put together a story about this. My mobile number is below. It might be
easier to trawl through these issues (and conspiracy theories!) by voice. Up
to you, but I think this combative mode of questioning is a bit over the top
for a public mailing list.
