[odf-discuss] Gnome Foundation and ECMA

Gnome leaders, specifically Gnumeric ones, seem rather positive about
OOXML. Far more than anyone else except Microsoft, and far more than
about ODF. Having read various commentaries from Gnumeric developers,
it seems to distill down to "no formula definitions in ODF" and "OOXML
is more like .xls and therefore we understand how to code to it
easier". Neither of which are particularly good reasons...

Who controls the Gnome Foundation? The answer may turn out to be as
simple and sad as "KDE supports ODF therefore we support OOXML
instead".
