Well, the committee as a whole hasn't heard about this until just now. 
The chair won't know until he checks his mail next. And he probably has 
to ask his employer.

We are not a legal entity, but that's not the biggest problem. We can't 
afford to join. It is cheaper to pay for two individual memberships.

I've heard that others are looking for alternatives too. And the OASIS 
people are very keen on seeing an amicable resolution to this. They just 
gave us a two-week extension because they realized that *we* didn't know 
about this (they've been discussing this with Gary for about a year, so 
it's perfectly reasonable for them to think that we knew about it).

Something will turn up. I'm sure that Marbux and I won't stay members 
because we are not important enough. But I'm hopeful about Bruce, Thomas 
and David. Something will turn up.
