Hi, Ian,

I'd be willing to take shot. There's just the draft of the outline to
start with though.

An important topic to address in one or more sessions would be
technological obsolescense, both planned, unplanned and forced in regards
to data formats. The history of companies, consortia and organizations in
this regard is important to take into account.

Likewise, the history of companies, consortia and organizations in regards
to documentation of specifications and APIs, use of secret APIs. There is
a plethora of court material, including findings of facts, from the last
twenty years which can be drawn on here.

Also, a look at the browser wars can show how competing specifications and
deviations from standards can cause countless billions in lost revenue and
unproductive staff effort.

There is a heading "why use both", there should be next to it a heading
"why there can only be one". Having, in addition, "can they coexist"
seems to be focusing too much in one direction.

Lastly, the focus on MOOX is rather tragic. More attention should be paid
to China's Uniform Office Format, which is actually in use. MOOX (aka
Ecma 376) is limited to a single product which for all practical purposes
very limited in market share. In contrast, OpenDocument (aka ISO/IEC
26300) and UOF have wide industry and public sector support.

Regards,
-Lars
