Html is not as rich as ODF. You can't do everything there. Most of the 
advanced features shown in that file are simply not possible in a generic way 
and requires hacking of the html sources.

In general reply to your mail; I'm pretty sure that as ODF is young, future 
versions of software will get increasingly better interoperability.
