Right. So your experience appears to mirror mine. That is, the plugin
doesn't actually work.

I too have Office 2003 on a Windows machine with the compatibility
pack for ooxml. I also have some ooxml sample files created by office
2007 that I can open via office 2003 with the compatibility pack, but
not via OOo with the ooxml plugin.

Later today I'll step through the attempts to get the Novell convertor
working in OpenOffice under Windows and Linux so that I can enumerate
them here. I should have recorded more detail when I did it last week,
but I was being lazy.
