Is this the latest news? Does this mean Danish government depts must
deal with ODF documents? If so, mobilise the Danish supporters and
ensure they send plenty of ODF-compliant documents - will be far more
than OOXML-compliant docs, given there is no implementation yet...

Karen,
The Danish Government has just decided to require the use of open
standards within the public sector. After January 1, 2008, all
authorities must be able to send and receive documents in either ODF
or OOXML. After one year, this decision will be reviewed with the
possible outcome that only one of these formats will survive as the
required open standard for documents within the Danish administration.
As a consequence of this, the Danish National Archives will research
the possibilty of exchanging our present document format, TIFF, with
either ODF or OOXML, or both.
