Great stuff; as usual.
Just one nag; you wrote this sentence:
"Is it all that costly to wait an extra half a second for the additional
feature of ISO dates?"
That can be taken out of context (like I did here ;) really easy and make
it look like you think it takes half an extra second to load a sheet.
So I suggest to put the 5.5 million in there somewhere, or take an
estimate of, say, 1000 dates for a sheet and print the effective
miliseconds for that.
