I am sorry for the discrepancy you note. I typed too quickly. The latter
better encompasses the conversation in question. Gary asked a series of very
specific question and the number of members the Foundation was sponsoring
was specifically discussed because Gary wanted to be sure that switching
from the non-profit membership status to the small corporation status as
OASIS was requesting would not result in Foundation members losing their
OASIS memberships. As I previously indicated, he was told that OASIS was
highly pleased with all of the high-quality work the Foundation members were
contributing and assured him that the number of sponsored Foundation members
would not be affected.

In short, the conversation was detailed and there is no question that if
Gary is telling the truth, a representation was made by the OASIS staffer
that is more than sufficient for the Foundation to win in court on the
membership issue. In that regard, I will note that OASIS has been informed
of that representation and there has been no denial that the person Gary
spoke to made that representation.

Please, if you are making the case that Sun are manipulating the OASIS

I am in the process of making that case, dividing my time between working on
the brief and attending to other matters such as answering your email. The
brief is detailed and will be fully supported by evidence. But I don't
intend to write it on this mailing list.

I'd also be interested in

I'll be covering those subjects and more, in detail.

And KDE.

And Patrick Durusau.

I don't understand your question. IBM and KDE both have apps that support
ODF and need to be involved. I don't recall Patrick ever telling me why he
is involved, although we do correspond occasionally.

That I am not worried about. But there is a tremendous amount of evidence to
get organized and connected by a narrative. I do not yet have a timeline so
can't tell you how soon it will be released. I'm guessing somewhere in the
neighborhood of 2 more weeks for the first version.
