My Kubuntu Feisty Centrino dual core laptop is working just fine! The
only annoyance was getting the ATI graphics drivers working properly
(i.e. with the proprietary (but not for long) drivers).

It's nice to see this sort of reading in top on a laptop:

Tasks: 132 total, 2 running, 129 sleeping, 0 stopped, 1 zombie
Cpu0 : 8.7%us, 1.7%sy, 0.0%ni, 89.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.7%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Cpu1 : 4.0%us, 1.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 94.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 2074692k total, 513184k used, 1561508k free, 5124k buffers
Swap: 979924k total, 184060k used, 795864k free, 101044k cached

Maybe more effort is being expended making the laptop experience better?

Chris
