The good news is that OOo2.3 (currently in developers' builds: I
tested m218) appears to have fixed the problem I described above
for saving from OOo to .doc: the anchored frames behave as they
should when the file is opened in Word. Therefore I hope the fix
will soon find its way into the next release of Sun's plug-in for
MS Office.
