Not really. The "converter" that was released by Novell is based on the
sourceforge odf-convertor code (written in C# and XSLT by Clever Age)
and that is ran by Novell on the .NET mono framework to execute
conversions from .odt <--> .docx etc.

The Sun plug-in converts .odt <--> .doc. The core of that code is in
OO.o as Free software as part of the input/output filters.
