I like the idea, but, pragmatically, plug-ins are not likely to get
anywhere seeing as there are too many ways for MS to throw sand in the
gears and too many motivations to see them fail.
One approach which would put the onus back on the microsofters would be
to have them prove that MSO can in fact support arbitrary user
XML-schemas by demonstrating it. In particular, ODF should be used for
the demo. If you set up the publicity right, they can't win.
Either they were talking shite and making claims about functionality the
product lacks (that's where my money would go) or else we get 'native'
support of ODF in MSO. For us and everyone else, except M$, it's a win.
