I just saw this bit about a mobile Linux phone that will install apps with
apt-get:

Has anyone on this list ever used a Linux-based mobile phone? Here in the
locked down USA, they don't allow us to have open source phones. I'm being
somewhat facetious, but not much. I have never seen, held, or used any
mobile device that is based on Linux, and I'm somewhat aggravated that the
US is, once again, owned by the dark side in this area. I would like to
hear some good news about mobile telephony and Linux, please please pretty
please.

I understand that the Nokia 770, which is not a phone, but is Linux based,
is popular in Europe. Does anyone know if that is true?

I hear that there are lots of success stories with Linux phones in Japan.

Thanks
