Well, 'make' is not really for regular users. It's included for geeks
because geeks often feel more comfortable with Makefiles.
I thought it'd be a neat idea to make the same .tgz suitable for both
regular end users and geeks who like Makefiles. For the latter group,
they are likely to expect 'make install' to require root, since that is
the norm. Naturally, I'll put that in the README too.
