Hello,
I just got invited to the Google "OpenSource Jam" event.
It's like a conference, but without the talks... he he. Now, seriously,
it's an informal gathering where you just chat with other developers and
meet people. There is a chance to do lightning talks, and I do want to
do one on the Fellowship and what we're doing. They are very short
though. Last time the longest one was 3min. So no slides or anything.
But that's fine, because then people who liked your 3min introduction
can talk to you over pizza and ask more.
Before I promise I'll go, I want to check the cost, time, etc. The event
is in London, and Tamworth is a long way from London. But I did sign up
already.

There is room for more developers from the Fellowship, but not many, as
space is limited and the idea is to get a mix. Alex, you interested? You
are near London and every other developer is in a different country.
I'll see if I can get some of those cool business-card-sized CDRs and
put a copy of the ODF viewer on it. We recently wrote a proposal for
"ODF Viewer 2.0" based on KOffice (a group of KOffice developers and
myself). I would include that too. (which reminds me, we need to put
that up on the website somewhere).
I'm tempted to make a "Beta 2" release for this. Just so people get a
fresh copy of our work. The code on SVN has better ODF support than
what's on the Beta 1 release, including fixes for some of the
presentation issues that several people have pointed out. And the GUI is
a little bit different.
If I package up a Beta 2 release on (say) Monday, can I get an NSIS
installer for Windows by Wednesday morning? The last installer was done
by Matthew Cruickshank, and he put up a copy of the installer script:

Matthew, you think you could do the beta 2 installer? Or anyone else
with a copy of Windows and NSIS?
Cheers,
Daniel.
