There's a current fad of developing entire web sites with gray text.
It really makes it rough on those of us with failing eyesight and
doubly so for retired typographers whose visual sensibilities already
stand too much abuse on the Web. I try to let site managers know about
the accessibility issue whenever I encounter such sites. Massachusetts
ITD's site -- where I had to spend quite a bit of time -- was one of
them. Happily (now that I'm done with that bit of research), the New
Year has brought a touch of sanity -- and a new CSS template -- to
