Just tried on an UbuntuDapper 6.06 box (fresh apt-get update/upgrade).

I connect to this box over an ssh session (basement). There is no X running
on it for the moment (while X is installed). Tonight, I can try on another
Ubuntu Dapper box with X running in front of me.

Results for now are:

peterv at ubuntu-2006-12-26:~/data/ODF/odf-viewer/odfviewer-0install$ ls -l
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 2 peterv peterv 4096 2007-01-11 01:11 data-01a1236688
-rwxr-xr-x 1 peterv peterv 871 2007-01-11 01:07 odfviewer

peterv at ubuntu-2006-12-26:~/data/ODF/odf-viewer/odfviewer-0install$ ./odfviewer
tar: /home/peterv/.local: Cannot chdir: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Traceback (most recent call last):

[clueless ...] I don't know if this is due to X not being active or
certain Python modules not present ??

Willing to try out any hints you suggest,

Peter
