We're going to be celebrating tonight!
The Open Source Society had a great few days at the workshop that
Standards NZ ran. I've got my meeting notes here on the arguments used
for and against,

After the Standards NZ workshop Microsoft came out with a ridiculous
newspaper campaign,

Which we responded to with humour,

And facts,

Prior to the Standards NZ workshop the NZ government agencies took the
time to consult and reach consensus. During the workshop they were
unwavering in their view of "No". I think they were perhaps the most
influential.
IBM and Google also were well spoken and played a major role in
supporting the legal arguments.
It's great news and a fantastic result to the months of work that NZOSS,
Govt.NZ, Google, IBM and many others put in.
