[odf-discuss] KEO Time Capsule

Hello all,

This is *completely* *off-topic*. I hope nobody will mind. I promise not
to do this often.

The European Space Agency is sponsoring a time capsule, so that humans
in the distant future can learn about the world of today. Everyone on
Earth is invited to write a message to be included in the capsule.

The capsule is a satellite with an extremely elongated orbit. It will
come back to Earth in 50,000. Why 50,000? Because 50,000 years ago
humans made the first cave paintings, and 50,000 years before that Homo
Sapiens first appeared.

The messages will be stored in glass-made DVDs. There is enough space
for 4 pages for every one of the 6 billion people on Earth.

The capsule will include a sample of blood, sea water and air, as well
as photos, and other things.
