I'm not saying it's impossible of course, many (including big) projects 
have changed their name during their history.

However, for one being a Java library if I change the package name then 
all users (including commercial ones) will have to change their code as 
well.  And I'd rather avoid breaking backward compatibility unless 
there's a good reason for doing that.
