I must update the fellowship icon page sometime.

What has been decided so far:

Copyright is pretty meaningless for icons, so it was agreed I would assert
non-registered trademark status on the monogram / icons, with the text you
see on my web page.

When the Gnome/KDE/Apache/Tango derivatives were made, they were based on
elements in their respective icon sets, so have to be released under their
respective licenses, even if as stated above, the copyright the licenses are
based on really does not work for icons.

What I think this boils down to is that the basic design is multi licensed
with Trademark-terms/GPL/LGPL/CC/Apache as required.

Trying to be more restrictive would just kill the adoption dead.
