Sorry for delay, I've been away from the office.

I can confirm that the unsigned email made it through just like everyone else's. So as has been suggested the odd behaviour is a combination of things exacerbated by Outlook not playing nicely. Unfortunately I can't use any alternative (Kmail!) client at the office so I'll just have to put up with it.

The gmail behaviour will probably be because I'm receiving list emails there via our Exchange server rather than having the gmail address subbed separately.

Thanks for checking it out for me and thanks also to those who took the trouble to look a little deeper.
