Daniel, I really like your design and the colours you chose. (I
didn't like Pete's background colour, which you called orange but
I see as yellow-gold.) And thank you for providing the series of
images showing the steps you took to arrive at the final design.
It's a fascinating example of how small changes can make a big
difference.
I agree that an animated GIF as you described is a good thing to
have.
I would also like to have a smaller button (maybe around 120x30)
to use in some places where yours would be too big. I tried
scaling down your image but it didn't look so great to me at the
smaller size -- the letters were a bit thin and the logo is a bit
too small for my taste. I think a bit of tweaking on a smaller
button would make it look equally good. Also, I would like the
small button to say "Get ODF Viewer".
Yes, I know, the rest of the group hasn't even agreed to the
basic design. :)
