I notice that the new version of OS from MS has a new font collection:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Windows_Vista_typefaces
Furthermore, there is an initiative to try and make this a de facto standard
in the proprietary world:
http://www2.jeffcroft.com/2006/aug/29/open-letter-apple-and-microsoft/
Whilst not a huge problem this is just another little niggle when exchanging
documents, in whatever format, between the open and proprietary worlds.
Is it outside our terms of reference to put together a core set of open
fonts (and perhaps distibute them with the viewer)?
