Hello everyone,

I have a new version of the ODF viewer installer for Linux:

http://opendocumentfellowship.org/~daniel/odfviewer-beta1-update1.bin

Notes:

* All bugs and issues I mentioned earlier are fixed.

* Any user who has gtk libraries should see a GUI starting mid-way
through the installation. All users must "Run in Terminal".

* The package includes everything. No internet connection required.

* There are two distinct installations: XULRunner and odfviewer. This is
a slight usability issue. It looks like it's done, you click OK, and on
comes another installer. I'll see about improving this. But in exchange
for this we get a neat feature:

I can produce "upgrade" packages that include only the odfviewer (to
upgrade from a previous version). The upgrade would be only 20KB instead
of 8MB and would install loads faster.

* If you want to test, could I get you to remove Autopackage first? Not
that it should matter, but testing is more useful if your setup is the
same what most end users will have.

rm ~/.local/bin/package
rm -r ~/.local/libexec/autopackage
rm -r ~/.local/share/autopackage
rm -r ~/.config/autopackage
rm -r ~/.packages

After you've installed it once, feel free to install it a second time if
you are curious to see what it looks like. It's not very interesting
except for the fact that it should work without a hitch.

Over all, I'm quite happy with the result. I think that this is the way
to go for the default installer. I do think we'll have to provide RPMs
and DEBs for (1) users who prefer native packages and (2) for non x86
architectures that can't run Autopackage.

Cheers,
Daniel.
