IDG (pro-MS, pro-swpatent newsservice) is reporting via Infoworld that 
open Standards have a reprieve in the EU:

I'll have to look into why IDG is so set on smearing the Finnish 
EU presidency.  A good turn seems to have been done, though maybe not on 
purpose.
